The Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) is taking a major step forward in enhancing healthcare delivery for newborns and mothers. In a three-day transformative training program, JOOTRH partnered with VAYU Global Care to equip their staff with the knowledge and skills to operate and maintain essential medical equipment – the lifesaving bCPAP (bubbling Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and oxygen blender systems.

The training culminated in a scene of collaboration and dedication within the JOOTRH Maternity Ward and Newborn Unit. Led by Dr. Muchela and Mr. Kennedy Opondo, the previously trained staff – now transformed into educators themselves – demonstrated the functionality of the equipment and its critical role in providing care. Hands-on training sessions ensured every staff member felt confident in utilizing the equipment to its full potential.

Following the practical sessions, a reflective debriefing took place. Here, the newly trained staff openly discussed challenges encountered, brainstormed solutions, and emphasized the potential impact of the equipment on patient outcomes.
