Haemato-oncology
The current services available for oncology include screening and prevention, chemotherapy treatment, surgery, and palliative care. Approximately 2500 patients who require radiotherapy have to either go to Kenyatta National Hospital or private hospitals in Nairobi. This is the main reason why a radiotherapy center is being established in JOOTRH to increase access to services in the region and decrease associated costs in traveling and accommodation to other regions for the same service.
