Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) gives the most exposure any student will require for training. The more the Interns interact with patients, the more they gain experience and learn.

While appreciating over 60 clinical officers and Interns who had come to the end of their term at JOORH, the management hosted a luncheon, acknowledging the work done by the outgoing interns.

The management appreciated over 60 interns who went the extra mile to serve while carrying out night duties for the last year.

“Should you want to continue learning, please indicate specific areas from which you still want to learn and the management will allow you” Dr. Dadan Ng’ong’a Deputy CEO JOOTRH said while acknowledging the good work done by the interns.

He admonished the existing team to carry the attitude that anytime they get an opportunity to handle patients, they have time to offer care.

The student’s representatives spoke on their experiences while serving at JOOTRH, many come in naïve, but are now going out experienced “The challenges here have shaped us and molded us.” Ms. Iris Adisa said.

“We leave experienced and full of knowledge, we have been able to go around the five departments as required by the medical internship regulations.” Mr. Clinton Otieno said.

The management let the interns know that their service made them proud even as they wait for another batch of interns since the ministry of health commenced posting the first batch of over 800 medical interns to public hospitals.
