The event celebrated the dedication and contributions of the JOOTRH team, while also recognizing retirees who have played a crucial role in the hospital's journey.

Dr. Ganda, CEC Member for the Department of Medical Services, joined JOOTRH Board Chair, Mr. Festus Achilla, in applauding the hospital's staff and leadership for their remarkable transformation. "JOOTRH is the eye of Healthcare in Kisumu," Dr. Ganda remarked, highlighting the hospital's recent improvements. He announced that JOOTRH will soon welcome a cardiac surgeon, a significant milestone in expanding specialized services.

Dr. Ganda encouraged the staff to continue striving for excellence, emphasizing that the improved facilities provide a strong foundation for further specialization, including the introduction of cardiac surgeries. This represents a major win for the residents of Kisumu.

Outstanding staff were recognized across various categories, including "Leading Revenue Generator," "Cleanest Ward," "Most Innovative Staff," and those who consistently demonstrate exemplary service.

The hospital's CEO, Dr. Richard Lesiyampe, commended the staff's teamwork, resilience, and unwavering commitment to excellence. He highlighted the successful development of a balanced scorecard for the 2024-2029 strategy, which emphasizes excellent clinical outcomes.

For the first time, JOOTRH participated in the Coya Awards 2024, receiving a certificate of participation. Notably, Dr. Lesiyampe was named the first runner-up for Best CEO Overall.

The ceremony included a heartfelt tribute to retirees, honoring their years of dedicated service and presenting them with certificates of appreciation. They were encouraged to explore entrepreneurial ventures to ensure financial sustainability.

Several departments were recognized for their outstanding contributions, including those excelling in patient satisfaction, revenue generation, operational efficiency, and clinical excellence. The Radiology and Imaging Department, Surgical Department, Laboratory, Farewell Home, and Pharmacy Department were among the leading revenue generators.

The event concluded with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, signifying a shared commitment to taking JOOTRH to new heights.
